Happy Tools = Happy Workplace

Happy Tools = Happy Workplace
A note about tools and cleaning... It's very important to keep your tools clean and happy. You take care of your tools, and they'll take good care of you and your work. @^_^@ I've gotten many questions about why certain things, especially airbrushes, run into problems. The main problem that most people run into who aren't familiar with their system is simply cleaning them properly. Here are some tips. This is just a general list of things that can happen. (At least for IWATA models). SKIPPING • Dried paint on needle tip (Tip-Dry) • Pigment too thick • Air pressure too high • Improper nozzle to body connection • Dirty airbrush • Cracked or damaged nozzle SPATTERING • Dried paint on needle tip (Tip-Dry) • Pigment build-up in needle cap • Air pressure too low • Pigment too thick • Dirty airbrush • Dried out air valve packing o-ring DOUBLE LINE • Dried paint on needle tip (Tip-Dry) • Dirty airbrush • Debris on nozzle tip • Bent needle (even a little dent in the tip will cause this) • Cracked or damaged nozzle NOT SPRAYING • Loose needle chucking nut • Loose head cap • Improper air pressure • Paint too thick • Bottle vent hole is plugged • Clogged nozzle • Cracked or damaged nozzle When I need to clean any of the parts I use Rubbing Alcohol (70%) with cotton swabs or cotton pads. (Used for removing makeup and etc). All Images are Copyright CJM 2007 All Rights Reserved www.agreencat.com/copyrights
