I do have feet fetish as mentioned by my flickr friend, Bebe_Rusty. LOL! But only Lati yellow babies. I love that it is not flat, it has little grooves and I love running my fingers across it.
Here's Candy showing off her little feet :)Lati will be closing their order on the 13th July, Sunday and this is the last week, I am so tempted to order a Cookie and a Lea. But I have to resist the urge, I have 2 Elves on order with Lati and 3 orders of wigs that are still waiting to be fulfilled. I have to wait before I order more stuff from them. *impatient*
Ohh Kiwi (Pocket Fairy Momo) had been shipped from Italy, I hope she gets here sometime next week. I still need to order clothes, shoes and wigs for her. Yup, she is going to be soo spoiled!
It was actually on July 2, but I didn't have time to post then. It was a pretty awesome day! My mum made me a yummy cake with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles, most of which was devoured by my brother later. A few of my friends came over and we ate cake and ran around playing with sparklers. Yay sparklers! X3 I got pretty much everything I wanted and more- an iPod (see previous post), wads of cash, and plenty of clothes and jewelry. (Which helped with my soon-to-be scene wardrobe!) Below you can see some of the stuff I got, and a pic of a sparkler my friend was holding. :) The cool plastic jewelry is from girlprops.com, and the shirts are from hot topic and forever21. (The power rangers shirt is AWESOME!)
I had to leave for a family reunion the day after my birthday, which I'll post a bit about on sometime later. I updated my profile a little bit so check that out... the doodle I'm using as my profile picture is pretty much awesome, kekeke.
My first sewing lesson is tomorrow! I hope it goes well and I'm not an outcast because of the age difference. I'm supposedly going to be in a class with a bunch of elementary schoolers. Waugh! XD I hope I survive. Wish me luck!
As you can tell, I had a lot of time with Love and Reverie. I haven't taken band pictures in a long time so this is a first in 5 years. Yay! Anyway, I have been shooting on manual so I'm so happy they even look decent! *whew* Yeah I had fun tonight. Tonight I was handed lemons and I made lemonade! haha
Having taken in one of my son's friends, my eyes have been opened to what life is like on the streets for teens (and for some who aren't on the streets).
Keep in mind that I'm talking about teens anywhere from 14 to 18.
Some of these kids live at the teen shelter because their parents kicked them out. We personally know 6 teen girls who were kicked out of their own homes when they got pregnant.
They have no supervision, no role models, and no one to hold them accountable. They steal food and clothes out of necessity.
Other kids live at home with their parents, but their parents sell drugs to the kid's friends to make money. Some of the kids who live at home don't eat for days. Their parents don't buy groceries or cook meals, buy them clothes, or provide for any of their needs. These kids don't shower for weeks at a time because they weren't taught the basics. Their days revolve around buying and selling drugs, getting people to buy them alcohol and cigarettes, and stealing if they're hungry.
I'm talking about Maine. Did you know that?
They form gangs because that's the only family they can find. They have to act tough to protect themselves.
No wonder the teen suicide rate keeps climbing. These kids are treated like they are disposable by their own parents, as well as society.
I think it's getting worse because funding for after-school programs was cut a long time ago for kids over 12 years old. After that, the kids are on their own. That takes away a safe and nurturing place to go for these kids. For some kids, that is the only place they can get a meal and not get yelled at.
It is so sad. I wish I could do more, but I haven't figured out what that is yet.
